2012 Nissan Xterra PRO-4X 4WD Avalanche
The Xterra is a rare breed these days: a true SUV built for dirt, rock, weather, and everything that doesn't happen on a paved road. This 2012 PRO-4X edition takes that philosophy seriously, combining Nissans legendary 4.0L V6 with real off-road hardware, a 5-speed automatic, and a body-on-frame design that doesn't flinch when the road disappears. Its the adventure SUV for people who actually use it, not just park it in front of the gym.
With PRO-4X upgrades, the Xterra comes trail-ready right from the factory skid plates, performance suspension tuning, locking rear differential, aggressive tires, and the kind of rugged capability that makes crossovers feel like city toys. No complicated menus, no gimmicky modes just proven mechanical toughness that lets you pick a direction and go.
Inside, its built for explorers. Durable materials, smart storage options, and a cabin designed to handle gear, mud, snacks, dogs, and anything else that comes with real life outside. Its exactly the kind of vehicle that makes a weekend adventure feel like a necessity, not a plan.
Why people love it:
True off-road SUV with real truck-style construction
PRO-4X hardware built for rock, mud, and mountain trails
Proven 4.0L V6 known for durability and strength
Practical interior that's easy to clean and easy to load
A rare, discontinued adventure SUV with loyal fan appeal

Best Vehicle of Choice
by Tip on Saturday, June 26, 2010
I bought a 2007 X, S new off the lot with no miles. For the most part i have enjoyed this suv, lets be real it has power, its sharp looking and even though i replaced the factory tires with toyo's almost a month after i bought it, it rides great the MPG went from 19 to 24 on the hiway after i changed tires and stayed with the 100% gas and no eth. i have pulled our 22ft ski b. with no prob. its has yet to fail me when i needed it . I have took it all over, it has enough room for all my gear and then a little more with the roof rack. I now have just over 80,000 and no major repairs not even brake pads. I like to keep it maint. My two year old has smeared and colored all over the seats, windows, plastics, arm rest, and they clean up easy, but a little hard to stay in after a long trip( stretch your legs every time u get the chance if u have to stay in the back seat) the city ride is not bad compared to other suv's with the same off road capabilities... its stiff for a reason try towing and breaking with a large trailer behind a jeep...good luck, the x has held up so far everything i put it through i have yet to find a reason to trade up yet, but a note to the readers if u CAN stay with 100% gas it makes a huge dif. in MPG and its makes the fuel sender work. Drive on Friends because u can in a x - 4.0
2013 Model S - 14,000 miles A/T

I mostly use this vehicle for weekend and vacation travel, hence the low mileage. Really nice V6, smooth and powerful and works well with the 5 speed trans. Easily towed a 9ft loaded utility trailer. I get 17-18 mpg overall which meets the EPA sticker mileage. Good suspension on rough road. Surprisingly quiet interior for a truck. Only 1 minor non-service dealer visit. - 5.0

Model:2012 Xterra 4proX Mileage :354000 Bought this Xterra new and never looked back. At 40K the exhaust manifolds cracked, went to a fence installer and had him reweld to seal. Other than that : 3 alternators, synthetic oil change every 6k, brakes every 85k, and suspension replacements at 125k and 250k,3 batteries. Not the greatest gas mileage but this is an off road beast. Best auto I have ever owned. My mechanic tried to tell me at 100k the beast would die, but at 350k we just laugh about it. If one comes across your sight at good price and its a 4proX jump on it. Can't recommend it enough.
